The sixth issue of Film Panic, the magazine of The Underground Film Studio, is devoted in large part to Rouzbeh Rashidi’s Phantom Islands (2018). It contains an extensive interview with Rashidi on the film’s conception, technique and its position between documentary and fiction, together with “The Making of Phantom Islands”, a production diary kept by Daniel Fawcett and Clara Pais, who accompanied the film’s shoot on the islands of Ireland in the summer of 2017.
Because Film Panic is a designed object as much as a text — a magazine whose layout, imagery and typography belong to its meaning — it is preserved here in its complete, original form rather than converted into a web article.
