1. About these Terms

1.1. This website, https://experimentalfilmsociety.com/, is run by Experimental Film Society (“we”, “us”, “our”). Through it, we sell our publications: printed books and eBooks (each a “Publication”).

1.2. These Terms are the agreement between you (“you”, “your”) and us for every purchase made through the website. You accept them when you place an order. Nothing needs to be signed or returned.

1.4. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information. Read it alongside these Terms.

1.5. We may revise these Terms from time to time. The version published on the website at the time of your purchase governs that purchase.

1.6. By purchasing, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age and authorised to use the payment method you provide.

2. What you are buying

2.1. Printed books are sent to the delivery address you give at checkout.

2.2. eBooks are PDF files delivered by download. When you buy an eBook, you receive a personal, non-transferable licence to read it. You may keep copies on your own devices. You may not share, upload, resell or republish it.

3. Prices and payment

3.1. Prices are in euro (EUR) and include any applicable taxes. Delivery costs for printed books are shown at checkout before you pay.

3.2. Payment is taken at checkout through the methods shown there. These currently include card, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Link (processed by Stripe), PayPal, and Klarna. Klarna’s own terms govern any instalment arrangement.

3.3. Card details go directly to the payment provider. They are never seen or stored by this website.

3.4. Changes to published prices apply to future orders only.

4. How the contract is formed

4.1. When you complete checkout, you make an offer to buy the selected Publication. The contract is concluded when payment succeeds and your order is confirmed on screen and by email.

4.2. If an order cannot be fulfilled, for example because a book is out of stock or a price was obviously wrong, we will tell you and refund any payment in full.

5. Delivery

5.1. eBooks: your download link appears on the order confirmation page and in your confirmation email, normally straight after payment. If a link does not work, write to us and it will be reissued.

5.2. Printed books are posted worldwide, normally within a few working days of your order. Delivery times depend on the postal services of the destination country. Risk passes to you when the book is delivered.

5.3. If a book has not arrived within a reasonable time, write to us and we will trace it or send a replacement.

5.4. Import duties or taxes charged by the destination country, if any, are the responsibility of the recipient.

6. Your right to cancel

6.1. As a consumer in the European Union, you normally have 14 days to cancel an online purchase without giving a reason.

6.2. Printed books: the 14 days run from the day the book reaches you. To cancel, write to us within that period, then return the book in its original condition within a further 14 days. We refund the price and the standard delivery cost within 14 days of receiving the book back. The cost of returning it is yours.

6.3. eBooks: the right to cancel ends once the download begins, but only if, at checkout, you ticked the box asking for immediate access and acknowledging that you would lose the right to cancel. Your order confirmation email records that choice. If you did not, you keep the full 14 days from the date of purchase.

6.4. To cancel, write to experimentalfilmsociety@gmail.com with your name and order number. Refunds go to the original payment method.

6.5. Your statutory rights are unaffected in every case. If a book arrives damaged or misprinted, or a file is faulty, it will be replaced. If replacement is not possible, you will be refunded, including delivery.

7. Intellectual property

7.1. All Publications, texts, images and designs on this website are the copyright of Experimental Film Society and of the respective authors and artists, unless otherwise stated.

7.2. They may not be copied, redistributed or exploited in any form without written permission, except for brief quotation with acknowledgement.

8. Liability

8.1. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, including your statutory rights as a consumer.

8.2. Subject to that, our total liability for any purchase is limited to the price you paid for it, including delivery.

9. Governing law and disputes

9.1. These Terms are governed by the law of Ireland. If you are a consumer living elsewhere in the European Union, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of your country of residence.

9.2. If something goes wrong, please write to us first. Most matters are settled within days.
