Biography

Atoosa Pour Hosseini (born Tehran, 1981) is an Iranian-Irish artist and filmmaker based in Dublin, and a member of Experimental Film Society. She works across film, performance, installation and sculpture with a particular attention to analogue processes, exploring how history and culture shape our perception of the real and the illusory.

She holds an MA in Fine Art Media from the National College of Art and Design, Dublin, and a BA in Fine Art Painting from the Azad University of Art and Architecture, Tehran. Her work has been shown at the Irish Museum of Modern Art, Temple Bar Gallery, the Irish Film Institute and Project Arts Centre in Dublin, and internationally at the Museum of the Moving Image (New York), Jeu de Paume (Paris) and venues in Berlin, Rio de Janeiro and Tehran. A monograph of her work was published by Oonagh Young Gallery in 2022, and her films are held in the collections of the Irish Museum of Modern Art and the Arts Council of Ireland.
